Join Real Food Real Stories at The Perennial for the launch of it's Book Club!
In addition to live storytelling gatherings (such as one at The Perennial in June), RFRS is bringing some of its favorite written food/ag stories, books, articles, literature, memoirs, etc. to you, beginning with:
Folks, This Ain't Normal, by Joel Salatin
Recommended by Karen Leibowitz of The Perennial, we will have an engaging discussion about on the writing by farmer and writer Joel Salatin and what it means to live far from the land. (You may recognize Salatin as the radical chicken farmer from "The Omnivore's Dilemma" and the documentary "Food, Inc.").
Our discussion will be based on the book, but ranges widely over issues related to farming, food, and sustainability. You do not have to read the whole book to participate -- all are welcome!
Drinks and snacks available in the bar area of The Perennial.
Are there books you would like to share with our community? Bring them along and say a few words!
